I stumbled across this delightful song when my mother was diagnosed with cancer (again) and I needed time off to take care of her.
I wrote to my then-boss asking her to reassign some of my responsibilities, and her response was a single word: Rubbish!
As you might imagine, I felt hurt by her response, and it catalyzed my resignation a few months later.
This song perfectly captured my predicament then: did I need to be battered black and blue before I could get some time off to attend to what was clearly an emergency?
As soon as I heard the song, I was SO tempted to send it to her, but I didn’t! Lol.
May you find greater courage to send it your unreasonable boss should something similar happen to you, and may they in turn have the sense of humour to see their own folly, and may you both have a good laugh together and move on!
Anyway, that is all water under the bridge and way too serious for this fine morning.
The song is just insanely absurd and hilarious – I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
